Wall Street Opens Flat as Energy Stocks, Trade Worries Weigh

U.S. stocks opened flat on Thursday, weighed down by declines in energy stocks as oil prices fell and worries over protectionist trade policies.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 9.45 points, or 0.04 percent, at the open to 24,877.36. The S&P 500 opened lower by 2.35 points, or 0.09 percent, at 2,730.94. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 3.97 points, or 0.05 percent, to 7,421.99 at the opening bell.

Hong Kong Stocks Flat at Open

Hong Kong stocks opened marginally lower Thursday on lingering worries about a China-US deal to avert a trade war and uncertainty over Donald Trump’s planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The Hang Seng Index inched down 5.71 points to 30,659.93.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was also barely moved, edging down 1.02 points to 3,167.94, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, eased 0.05 percent, or 0.85 points, to 1,833.87.

Shanghai Stocks End Flat as Healthcare Firms Offset Developers

Shanghai stocks erased early losses to end flat on Tuesday, coque samsung amid signs of easing trade tensions, after the United States and China are said to be nearing a deal to settle ZTE controversy.

The blue-chip CSI300 index fell 0.4 percent, Coque huawei to 3,906.21 points, coque huawei pas cher while the Shanghai Composite Index ended flat at 3,214.35 points.

Washington and Beijing are nearing a deal that would remove an existing U.S. Coque Huawei 2018 order banning American companies from supplying Chinese telecommunications equipment maker ZTE Corp ,
